Sip Kentucky History

Wild Wolf Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey is a Premium Small Batch, High Proof, Cask Strength Kentucky Spirit from the only hand Crafted Bourbon Distiller in Bourbon County Kentucky. This old mash bill and wild mountain berry yeast was inspired by the story of the Great Chase and is an unfiltered replicate of the Civil War era spirit.

Although, Union Col. Frank Lane Wolford did not imbibe, after capturing his mutually respected nemesis Gen. John Hunt Morgan in a doggedly 1,000 mile chase he gracefully offered Morgan and his officers bourbon at the bar and a chicken and dumpling meal at the Whitaker Hotel in north east Ohio.
Morgan surrendered his sword, his horse and his silver spurs to Wild Wolf. Morgan’s men were warned not to exit the Whitaker Hotel. Wolford’s second in Command, Lt. Col. Silas Adams was fond of Kentucky Bourbon.

You must be at least 21 or older to be served.

The Kentucky Civil War Experience

Wild Wolf — The Story of Colonel Frank Wolford is a fresh look at Union Col. Frank Wolford, the celebrated Civil War cavalier and rival of Confederate raider John Hunt Morgan.

Written by Wolford’s great-great-nephew, Ronald Wolford Blair, the book discusses in detail Wolford’s heroic leadership in part of more than 300 battles and skirmishes, during which he was wounded seven times, and his notable rivalry with Morgan’s Raiders.
